Do you know that quote from The Princess Bride about true love? No, not that one. Not that one, either. I'm thinking of this one:

"You truly love each other and so you might have been truly happy. Not one couple in a century has that chance, no matter what the story books say. And so I think no man in a century will suffer as greatly as you will."

Strike out the word "man" from that last sentence and sub in "woman," and you have Eva and Winston. Their story has so many twists and turns - when they met, Eva had a myriad of health problems that included scary words like "tumor marker" and "heart surgery." Since Justin and I first started corresponding with them last summer, they've both lost loved ones. Even though emergency room visits and biopsies and funerals aren't the traditional way to spend a courtship and engagement, Eva and Winston make it all seem... normal. Chill, even. And it turns out there's really nothing like a clean bill of health and a sprawling future together to make a wedding day into a no-holds-barred-ultra-mega-celebration-a-thon. Even the New York Times Vows section agrees.

We arrived at the insanely secluded Anvil Ranch & Vineyard on Day 2 of Eva and Winston's three-day celebration and were greeted by a wolf pack of their fiercely loyal friends. (I use this term metaphorically but we did legit capture a pre-ceremony wolf howl in the bridal suite.) There's definitely a part of me that wants to catalog every amazing detail of the day - the spontaneous dance parties, the Doctor Who fandom, the bride's costume change from emerald green wedding dress to white sequin J. Crew romper, the toasts and the tears and more tears and MORE DANCE PARTIES and the candy and the yoga handstands and twinkle lights and incredible mountaintop forest scenery - but I'd never get to all of it. Words can't really do this wedding justice. I'm not even sure the pictures can, but it's worth a shot.

Congratulations, Eva and Winston! Not one couple in a century has your chance at happiness, no matter what the storybooks say.
